John Stenzel, — Executive Director

John's experience, in the field of behavioral health, is extensive and multi-faceted. As a Business Entrepreneur and Behavioral Health Consultant, John has spent much of his professional career focused on the operations or assisting treatment programs along the full continuum. He understands the treatment environment and knows how to empower treatment providers so they can realize their full potential. John has a strong understanding for the clinical efficacy of treatment as well as expertise and background in business development and marketing, both domestic and international. He understands the details of private pay markets, corporate finance, strategic planning and board development. John is also the co-founder of several niche behavioral health businesses including, but not limited to, an international employee assistance program that operated in over 50 countries, and a premier sober living and transitional living business. Known for his professional yet personable style, John greets clients by name and takes an interest in their lives and recovery. In his free time he enjoys spending time with family, his yellow lab - "Tobey" and surfing.

Rawland “Rawly” Glass, MSW, LCSW — Clinical Director

Rawly's professional background encompasses a wide variety of experience including; managing addiction treatment contracts for the state of Idaho; working with various vulnerable populations in the capacity of adult protection and child protection as well as managing group homes for "at-risk kids". He holds a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA. He also holds a Master of Social Work degree from Walla Walla University, in Walla Walla, WA, with a dual emphasis in Clinical Work with Children & Families and Addiction Treatment. In the twelve years prior to coming to the Bridge, Rawly was in private practice as a mental health therapist and conducted an annual series of workshops on codependency, addiction, and inner healing. Rawly and his wife, Karen, are the proud parents of two, adult children and the incredibly proud grandparents of one grandson. In his spare time Rawly enjoys white water rafting, hiking, camping and woodworking.

Carol Cannon, M.A., C.A.D.C. -- Co-founder/Chair, Clinical Advisory Group

Co-founder and former program director at The Bridge, she earned her master's degree in education and counseling from Andrews University, where she was honored for her work in designing a therapeutic model for breaking the transgenerational cycle of addiction and family dysfunction. Her continuing education includes training at Rutger's Summer School of Alcoholism Studies. Carol is the author of Never Good Enough: Growing Up Imperfectly in a "Perfect" Family, Hooked on Unhappiness: How to Break the Chronic Misery Habit, and two drug-prevention programs for parochial schools, Caring for Yourself & Others and Drug & Alcohol Resistance Training. She has been published in numerous periodicals in the U.S. and other countries. Carol brings profound but practical insight to her teaching that is the by-product of her personal healing journey. She and her husband Paul are the proud parents of two sons, one of whom is a Ph.D. in cell biology and the other a C.P.A. Carol enjoys jogging, decorating, landscaping, and grandmothering.

 

 
Dr. Scott Whittle -- Program Director/ Director of Development

Scott brings nearly twenty years of experience in pastoral ministry to The Bridge. His passions are teaching, building teams, facilitating groups, and writing. He is also a skilled counselor, having thousands of hours of contact with people from all walks of life. Scott received his doctorate while studying in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is married and has two precious children: Nakata and Elijah. When he’s not at The Bridge, Scott enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, reading and playing racquetball.
Susan Tutino MA, DTR, CSAT, CMAT

Susan is a counselor at the Bridge. She earned her Bachelors’ degree from Western Kentucky University and her Masters’ degree from Antioch New England Graduate School in Keene, New Hampshire. Susan has been working in the substance abuse field for several years. Prior to that she completed an internship at River Oaks Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana working in the sexual trauma unit and the eating disorders unit focusing on expressive art therapies. Susan is a grateful recovering addict who began her journey in 1998. She and her husband Tom are blessed with two fantastic children, Jessica and Anthony.
Noelle Schwantes, LPC-MHSP, NCC

Noelle Schwantes is a licensed professional counselor and mental health service provider as well as a nationally certified counselor. She did her training at Vanderbilt University where she received a master’s of education in human development and counseling. Since that time Noelle has experience working with numerous addictions, and is a proponent of looking at underlying issues in order to heal core wounds. Specialty training has included a certification in rapid resolution therapy, a technique that has the ability to aid in clearing and healing trauma, and experiential therapies. She is thrilled to be working at The Bridge since it was her time at The Bridge that started her on her own personal journey of recovery. She lives in Chattanooga with her husband Marcel and their dog, Simon.
Kimberly C. Whittle, B.A

Kimberly began her personal recovery journey at The Bridge in 1990. Her past self-destructive lifestyle included addictions to alcohol, drugs and relationships. She is also a survivor of sexual, phyiscal, and emotional abuse. Kim's journey of recovery has given her the experience , strength and hope that have transformed her into a serene, joyful and commited wife and mother of two. Kim holds a BA in Psychology and has accumulated over 20 years experience in the field of counseling and human services. She has focused her efforts on work with domestic violence survivors as well as facilitating Christian Twelve-Step groups and sexual survivor groups.
Jan Culp, BS, MS – EAGALA Equine Specialist

Jan’s love of horses, education, training, and over 40 years of equine experience, has prepared her to introduce clients to horses - with therapeutic results. Jan has over 20 years of personal, 12-step recovery as well. This 12-step recovery knowledge, her intuitive skills, and candor help make her program distinctive.
In addition to being an Equine Specialist and Consultant for the Bridge to Recovery, Jan is involved with the Rocky Mountain Horse Association (RMHA). She has been an RMHA Quadrille Coach in the 2010 World Equestrian Games, Director of the 2009-2010 (RMHA) Rated Trail Program, and is an Examiner of Certification with the RMHA.

Tina Craft

Tina has been a friend of The Bridge for many years before joining the staff. For 15 years, she volunteered to give periodic 4th Step (personal inventory) programs for Bridge clients and became a mentor to many. Her journey of recovery began over 25 years ago when she found that she had lost herself and her enthusiasm for life. The ways she'd been taught to manage her life no longer worked. With the help of loving mentors, she began a lifelong journey of recovery.
Jocelyn Baldor BA, LADCII

Jocelyn Baldor received her BA in psychology from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. From there she adventured to St. Louis, MO to participate in an Americorps Emergency Response Team. During her year of service she got in touch with her passion to help people and developed her strengths working with families in crisis. After St. Louis she invested 8 months into Spanish language immersion in South America. She returned to her home state of MA and worked with Community HealthLink as a Bilingual Addictions Counselor. It was through the people at CHL that she fell in love with the work, and went on to pursue her License in Drug and Alcohol Counseling. Jocelyn has hiked the majority of the Appalachian Trail and finds hiking to give her clarity and peace.


James Perry, BA -- Men's House Manager

James holds a BA in Education with 20 years of experience as a teacher and principal. James first came to the Bridge, as a client, to attend a codependency workshop in 2002. He states that, at the time, he was a caretaking, perfectionist not knowing why he wanted to live anymore. His experience at the Bridge was instrumental in guiding him to a life path of recovery and serenity. James is blessed with a son, daughter and three amazing granddaughters. His interests include reading, painting, travel and backpacking - having just completed a portion of the John Muir trail from Mammoth Lakes, CA to Yosemite National Park.
Evie Tenorio – Women's House Manager

Evie's care and compassion for people has led her to the Bridge as the Women's House Manager. As an alumnus of the program she understands the process and work of recovery. Originally from Western Montana, Evie has lived in Idaho for the last 26 years. Her professional experience ranges from customer service to forklift driver to office manager. Evie and her husband, Jaime, have a mixed family of 5 children – 1 daughter and 4 sons - and 1 wonderful grandson. In her spare time she enjoys her family, walks, traveling around the US and Mexico, the beach, boating, gardening, her animals or just relaxing.


Dee Dee Yeagle, BA -- Admissions Coordinator

Dee Dee has over four years of experience in admissions and it is her friendly voice that greets prospective clients when they call the Bridge. Dee Dee received her BA in Psychology/Sociology from Kentucky Wesleyan College. Dee Dee is active in various service positions in her local A.A. group including sponsorship of newcomers. Among other things, Dee Dee enjoys spending her free time with her dog, Lucy.

Neena Wilcox, BA -- Operations Manager

Neena Wilcox graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2004 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Minor in Criminology. She began her career working with adolescents and “at risk” youth in group home settings. After relocating back to this area, she has spent the last several years as a substance abuse counselor at a treatment center in Nashville. She is excited to join the admissions team at The Bridge. Neena has a beautiful baby girl and has been happily married to her high school sweetheart for over 5 years.

Phillip Leedy-  Executive Chef, Director of Food Services

Phil's passion for cooking was sparked at an early age working in the kitchen with his Mother, Elane. He relishes the opportunity to create a very diverse menu here at The Bridge, and utilize many different styles and techniques. A sixteen year veteran of the restaurant industry, Phil apprenticed under Chef Ralph DeAngelo of The CIA, NY, studying Mediterranean and Italian cuisines, and Chef Jutta Scheitter of Le Cordon Bleu, learning the finer points of French and German cuisines. When he's not in the kitchen, he enjoys hiking, backpacking, rock climbing, gardening, and spending time with his wife Monica and beloved daughter Maya.
