The Bridge to Recovery: Who We Are

The Bridge to Recovery is a nonprofit program offering residential workshops to those impacted by unresolved trauma resulting in pain, shame, and guilt, further causing unhealthy behavior patterns. Since 1972, we have helped thousands of individuals and families experience healing and emotional recovery.

Job Description

The Bridge to Recovery is excited to add an additional Therapist to our established team of talented clinicians. Our residential workshop program, established in 1972, serves individuals who are struggling with unresolved trauma, codependency, and negative behavior patterns.

Job Duties

  • Our unique program curriculum was created by our Co-Founder, Carol Cannon. Since then, over the past 5 decades, we have continued to supplement, when available, breaking advances in trauma care to provide the most well rounded, evidence based, mission driven program. You will work as part of a team of clinicians to provide top-notch trauma care, utilizing the curriculum, and staying abreast of new evidenced based techniques for trauma care.
  • We utilize multiple modalities of experiential therapy, which we have found best help our clients foster healthy connections with themselves through awareness and productive use of their physical sensations and emotions. You will utilize a wide range of experiential modalities, including: Integrative & Parts Work, Narrative Therapy, Inner Child Work, Cathartic & Shame Reduction Work, Empty Chair Work, and more.
  • We have found that deep and authentic healing happens in the group setting with clients who are ready, willing, and physically/emotionally able to dive into deeply rooted, unresolved trauma, family systems work, and attachment work. You will lead groups of clients through the process of healing, establishing positive, trusting rapport.
  • Our admissions and clinical teams work closely together to ensure we are the best fit for every client; and, our clinical and alumni teams work closely together to ensure a smooth transition after The Bridge. You will assist the Clinical Director and Team, as well as across other departments to review client intake information, provide case management throughout the client’s journey, and assist with aftercare recommendations.
  • Partnership with our referents is a critical part of our philosophy at The Bridge to Recovery. You will communicate regularly with Therapists, Family Programs, Treatment Programs, Interventionists, Case Managers, and more.
  • As a workshop program, documentation and record keeping is at a much smaller scale than large behavioral healthcare programs. However, you will be responsible for completing case notes, discharge summaries, and other clinical paperwork.
  • Safety of our clients is paramount. When they feel safe, it creates an environment where they are free to do their healing work. You will follow all safety protocols and maintain client confidentiality.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Inner Child Work and other experiential modalities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Ability to build rapport quickly
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to communicate with compassion and empathy
  • Strong ability to manage time and prioritize tasks
  • Strong computer, writing, and communication skills required
  • Master’s degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field
  • Current with all state licensing requirements, including LPCC, LICSW and LMFT (other licensures will be considered)
  • 1-3 Years of clinical experience; leading groups preferred
