What to Expect in The Bridge to Recovery's Mental Health Workshop

Getting mental health care close to your home in Warren County is comforting and convenient. Although a residential program can sound intimidating, The Bridge to Recovery recommends a minimum stay of just two weeks. You have the opportunity to extend your stay at The Bridge to Recovery based on personal needs, preferences, and other factors (and many clients do). Most of our clients stay for about 2-4 weeks, and your unique journey will be respected here at The Bridge.

Our Warren County mental health workshop consists of several distinct phases. Here’s what to expect in The Bridge to Recovery’s mental health workshop.

Working to understand yourself better is a crucial part of the healing process, and for most people, it is an ongoing pursuit. In Phase 1 of our Warren County mental health workshop (Uncover and Discover), you will learn about and examine your personal trauma in a safe and supportive group setting. Everyone has life experiences worth acknowledging. Your social, familial, and romantic relationships, mood, beliefs about yourself, others, and the world, as well as aspects of physical well-being like sleep, are just some examples of things that past trauma and related concerns can influence.

Trauma is a known risk factor for diverse mental health conditions. Both major traumatic events–like abuse, sexual assault, natural disasters, loss of a loved one, war, or physical illness–and “smaller” stressors or traumatic events that accumulate over time, like persistent financial stress or criticism from a parent, can have a marked impact on these things.

That’s why our Warren County mental health workshop is able to effectively address a broad range of mental health concerns. Phase 1 builds a foundation for the next stages of the workshop.

In Phase 2 of our Warren County Mental Health Workshop (Digging Deeper), you will start building your toolbox. In therapy, the word “toolbox” is often used to describe a set of coping skills and strategies you have for navigating daily life while caring for your mental health more effectively. During this phase, you will reflect on how trauma has manifested in your life, continue to connect with other group members while supporting each other, and work to create positive change in yourself. Setting boundaries, building good habits, and practicing coping strategies for mental health challenges are some examples of what you might work on during the “Digging Deeper” stage.

The Bridge to Recovery has a dedicated aftercare team and alumni program. Before you leave The Bridge to Recovery, we will discuss aftercare and continued care. Our aftercare team can provide referrals for continued therapy in Warren County and other services that may be relevant to your transition back into everyday life. Alumni are always a part of The Bridge to Recovery’s family. We offer  alumni events and other forms of support and connection for individuals who have completed our program.
